His first project, putting fender flares on a '69 Camaro, was before he even graduated Brookings Harbor High School in 1981. Knowing painting and bodywork was his passion he joined the Marine Corps right after graduation and got to work. Getting plenty of practice doing custom painting by hand his work was mainly camouflage on the military's many different vehicles. After 10 years he came back home to Brookings and joined South Coast Lumber, raising his family for 14 long years before remembering his dreams and going back to school. Emerging 2nd in his class from Wyoming Technical Institute in 2003 he and his wife Gail opened West Coast Custom Paint and Restoration in May of 2004. It's been a great 21 years and Marty, the shop, and his family are still going strong!
Bo loves cars and has for as long as he can remember. Having worked in the family's shop on and off since he was a sophomore in high school he has never attended any technical or trade school. His knowledge and expertise is an accumulation of his father's (Marty's) teachings and years of hard work. Having learned skills such as welding as young as 12 years old Bo specializes in custom bodywork and paint. In his spare time he drifts his racecar, works on his many projects, and raises his own beautiful family.
